This policy explains what personal data Gardening Disco collects when you use this website, why, and what rights you have over it. Gardening Disco is a trading name of Matt Wright ("we", "us", "our"), based at West Side Rise, Olney.

What we collect

The only personal data we collect through this website is what you choose to give us via the contact form: your name, email address, and message, plus optionally your phone number, village/area, and which service you're enquiring about. There are no required fields beyond name, email, and message.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is used - things like which pages are visited, how visitors got here, and general device/location info (e.g. country, browser type). This is cookie-free and doesn't identify you personally: no persistent identifiers are set, and visits aren't tracked across other websites. Beyond this and what our hosting provider, Vercel, processes automatically to serve the pages (standard web server logs), we don't use any other analytics or tracking scripts on this site.

How we use it

We use the information you submit solely to respond to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to arrange and carry out garden maintenance work for you. We don't use it for marketing, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

The legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries from people who've asked to hear from us, and - if you become a customer - performance of the contract for the work we agree to carry out.

Who we share it with

When you submit the contact form, your details are sent to us by email via Resend, our transactional email provider, which processes the message only to deliver it to us. The site itself is hosted by Vercel, which also provides the cookie-free analytics described above. None of these services use your data for their own purposes. We don't share your details with any other third party.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and customer contact details for as long as needed to respond to you or deliver ongoing work, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch. If you'd like us to delete your details sooner, just ask - see "Your rights" below.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your data, where there's no good reason for us to keep it;
  • ask us to restrict or object to how we use your data; and
  • complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you think we've mishandled your data.
